CONFIDENCE
Going back to school can be a tough transition for may children. Some have never gone to school before, so going to a new place with new people can seem scary. Other kids will wonder if they will see their old friends, or if they will be able to make new friends. One significant Life Lesson that can help with this time of transition, and indeed any type of significant change is CONFIDENCE. When a child has confidence, they feel assured that they will be able to handle the challenges that life sends their way. As many of you know, confidence is when a person beleives in themselves, stands tall, and feels good about themselves. A confident person trust themselves to make the right choices and do the right things. Just as importantly, a confident child will grow into a confident adult. Confident, self-assured people often have an advantage in enjoying a successful, happy adult life. While there is no disputing how important CONFIDENCE is, what can parents do to help instill confidence in their children? The number one thing a parent can do is spend time with their children. Make them feel that they are imporant and loved, and that confidence they have will be nurtured. Martial Arts classes are another good way to instill confidence in yourself or your child. Martial Arts students learn self-defense techniques that will help them be aware and confident in their ability to handle a bad situation. At Mazzarella Martial Arts we focus specifically on building confidence in our students, among other Life Lessons such as Focus, Persistence, and Integrity.
